Off Season in The Hole
Jackson Hole’s two main seasons are Winter and Summer. Fall and Spring are often called "Off" or "Hump" season. There are still things taking place in town and the surrouding areas, but there is ususally limited access to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. In addition, many businesses close or are open only part time. It is a time for businesses to take inventory, remodel and prepare for the next wave of tourism. Locals tend to like it since their is less traffic and some of the restaurants that are open offer specials for locals or 2 for 1 entrees and give back a portion of the meal to non profits organizations in the community.
